PelviPower® Chair: Strengthening Your Pelvic Floor While You Sit
Your pelvic floor plays a vital role in supporting your bladder, bowel, core and overall wellbeing. When these muscles become weak or poorly coordinated, everyday activities such as laughing, exercising or lifting can become more challenging.
At our clinic, we offer the PelviPower® Chair – an innovative, non-invasive technology designed to gently activate and strengthen your pelvic floor muscles while you remain fully clothed and comfortably seated.
Whether you’re recovering after childbirth, experiencing bladder leakage or looking to improve your pelvic floor strength, the PelviPower Chair provides a comfortable and effective addition to your personalised rehabilitation programme.
What Is the PelviPower Chair?
The PelviPower Chair uses a specialised electromagnetic field to stimulate the pelvic floor muscles, creating thousands of gentle muscle contractions during each treatment session.
Many people find it difficult to correctly identify and contract their pelvic floor muscles. The PelviPower Chair helps activate these muscles automatically, making it an excellent option for those who struggle with traditional pelvic floor exercises or need additional support during rehabilitation.
Treatment is comfortable, discreet and requires no internal examination during the session.
Who Can Benefit?
PelviPower may be suitable for individuals experiencing:
- Stress urinary incontinence
- Urgency and overactive bladder symptoms
- Mild pelvic floor weakness
- Reduced pelvic floor strength after pregnancy or childbirth
- Core weakness
- Age-related pelvic floor changes
- Reduced confidence during exercise
- Men following certain prostate treatments (where clinically appropriate)
Following a comprehensive assessment, we’ll determine whether PelviPower is the right option for your individual needs.
How Does It Work?
During your treatment, you simply sit comfortably on the chair while the technology delivers gentle electromagnetic stimulation to the pelvic floor muscles.
This encourages repeated muscle contractions that can help to:
- Improve pelvic floor muscle strength
- Enhance muscle awareness and coordination
- Support bladder control
- Improve pelvic stability
- Complement your pelvic floor exercise programme
Each session lasts only a short time, allowing you to continue with your day immediately afterwards.
Why Choose PelviPower?
PelviPower offers a simple, comfortable and non-invasive way to support pelvic floor rehabilitation.
Benefits may include:
- Fully clothed treatment
- No downtime
- Comfortable and discreet
- Suitable for both women and men
- Complements physiotherapy and osteopathic care
- Helps patients who struggle to activate their pelvic floor independently
For the best outcomes, PelviPower is used alongside a personalised rehabilitation programme, ensuring improvements in strength translate into better function in everyday life.

Your Questions, Answered
What is PelviPower?
PelviPower is a new method that trains your pelvic floor and surrounding muscles purposefully and effectively, without exertion. You sit on a specialised chair in your everyday clothes for 30 minutes per session. It combines magnetic field therapy with biofeedback training, and is recommended by doctors and therapists.
Is PelviPower treatment painful or invasive?
No. PelviPower is completely non-invasive and painless. You sit fully clothed on the PelviPower chair while the magnetic field stimulates your pelvic floor muscles. Most clients feel a clear muscle stimulation from the first session but no discomfort.
What conditions can PelviPower help with?
PelviPower can help with urinary and faecal incontinence, postnatal recovery, female sexual vitality, male erectile dysfunction, recovery after prostate surgery, back pain and as a preventative training method for sport and general health. It works by strengthening the pelvic floor and surrounding muscles.
How many PelviPower sessions will I need?
The number of sessions depends on your individual condition and goals, but you will typically notice muscle stimulation from the very first session. After your initial trial, our certified trainers will create a personal training profile and recommend a session package based on your needs.
Can PelviPower help with postnatal recovery?
Yes. Around one in three women experience bladder weakness after giving birth, and the hormonal and physical changes of pregnancy and childbirth place strain on the pelvic floor. We recommend biofeedback training before childbirth followed by a combination of biofeedback and magnetic field therapy afterwards to support postnatal recovery.
Is there a free trial available for PelviPower?
Yes. MEPS currently offers a free trial of PelviPower so you can experience the treatment before committing to a package. You can book your free trial directly via the website or get in touch with the clinic.
Patient Stories
“My treatment at Pelvic Health Studio including Pelvipower has been transformative. For nine years I suffered from faecal urgency, following a bad tear during the birth of my daughter, the severity of which was not recognised at the time. For years I sought help from different professionals – two specialist women’s health physios, a gastroenterologist and an incontinence nurse, all of whom simply told me to work at my pelvic floor exercises.
I diligently did this, but without significant effect on the urgency, which was really affecting my quality of life and ability to travel e.g. commuting to work. The incontinence nurse did also recommend an electronic stimulation device to use at home and this helped a little but not enough. I heard about Pelvipower and decided to give it a go, although part of me feared it might be a bit of a gimmick.
I committed to the recommended two sessions a week for six weeks and was delighted to notice a real improvement in my symptoms. I am now coming once a week and hope to be able to reduce to fortnightly soon. Elaine has been amazingly supportive and helpful, giving me tips to get the most out of my sessions, and I have found additional pilates sessions with her extremely helpful too. I no longer feel like I have to plan my life around being near to a toilet, carry spare knickers and wipes or avoid certain foods, all of which is hugely liberating.”
